There's something to be said for wearing your heart on your sleeve ... or around your neck thanks to designer Julie Bergstein and her new romantic keepsake. This new creation, just in time for Valentine's Day, is handcrafted in 14k yellow gold, freshwater pearls and silk ribbon. Each ingredient represents an emotional component of the gift -- gold for strength, pearls for pure love and delicate silk to symbolize that love is tender and playful. This necklace is part of Julie's new collection of multi-component necklaces that feature chain, ribbon or beads entwined together for a new twist on the usual strands and Y-necks. Julie can be reached at 480-860-6211 or at justjules1@aol.com. Further information is available here and editors can download high resolution images here.
Good enough to eat!Well, almost. Designer Robert Wander calls it Crystal Candy, and retailers have been eating it up this season. Introduced last year at the Couture show, it has been one of the best-selling items ever carried by Robert Wander despite the fact that production restrictions limit the number of pieces that can be made. These colorful beauties capitalize on the "flaws" inherent in otherwise gorgeous stones. Robert employs mirror cuts and carefully calibrated rough cuts to capitalize on the details, letting them reflect throughout the stone. Each jewel consequently is a one-of-a-kind and Robert designs the jewelry around the gemstones. To best appreciate their beauty, click on the picture for a larger-sized image and see them up close. High resolution images can be found here, and more about Robert Wander's new confection is available here. He is reachable at robertwander@hawaii.ir.com or 808-597-1331.

Jean-François Albert, designer/owner of JFA Designs, has created a new bridal collection that leads the trend in comfortable wear coupled with petite design. Jean-François has become a leader in the bridal jewelry category for his signature use of the comfortable, unround, shank and the best quality diamonds. His newest collection has been scaled down from his usual style to please the bride looking for a more delicate look and feel. These rings still offer the wearer the most dazzling diamond jewel, and the design of the shank -- shaped to fit the way our fingers really are, which is not round -- makes for a better, more comfortable fit. Prices start at $250. JFA Designs is at 800-621-7082 or via e-mail at sales@jfadesigns.com. High resolution images can be found here, and further information is available here.
Spring is going to be a bit blue for designer Elyssa B. -- and a little pink, too. These cool tones are what you'll see in her spring collection of fanciful briolettes and beads. Flirty necklaces and swinging chandelier earrings are what's on her mind these days. Elyssa's work has been garnering a lot of media attention of late along with a growing list of celebrity clients. With so many other pieces like this one in her repetoire, her Spring '04 collection will attract even more of both. This one-of a kind blue topaz necklace w/ kunzite drop is $4,200 at her studio; the multi-sapphire 14kt gold earrings, $4,000, are at Barney's New York. Elyssa can be reached at 310-273-6860 or via e-mail at ElyssaB@pacbell.net. More about Elyssa is here and high resolution images can be found here.
