Innovative designer Paul Klecka has created a stunningly new way of presenting diamonds and other gemstones in a jewel, creating a surface of gemstones that is pavé-like but without the heavy cut-up metal surrounding each stone. Each gemstone appears to float within the surface. The jewelry form itself is built from the lattice of stones and its supporting metal. He calls it Lattiset and you can find more information about it by clicking here. Paul can be contacted at 312-726-0225 or info@klecka.com. High resolution images are located here.
Jim Binnion has accomplished what jewelry designers and metalsmiths have until now only dreamed about: bonding pure iron to platinum and 22k gold. This equips him to make mokume gane jewelry with a wider range of materials than previously possible, opening up new combinations and shades of color. He also produces a whole range of mokume rings in what are considered the traditional materials for mokume -- various colored golds and sterling silver. Further information about the new products, pictured here, and his entire line of jewelry, can be found here. High resolution images are located here. Briolettes continue to be important for 2004 with the addition of charms and textured gold. High resolution images are available here, and further information can be found here.
For more than a decade, Carolyn Tyler has been known for exquisitely detailed one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry designs in 22k gold and gemstones. Since each piece is handmade by her small team of craftsmen in Bali, annual output has been around 700 pieces, restricting her market exclusively to upscale boutique galleries and discriminating private collectors until now. Carolyn has recently expanded her overseas operations to include more than 100 master metalsmiths who will hand-fabricate a selected collection of her most popular pieces such as the Etrusca bracelet shown here to supply growing demand for her work in America, Europe, and Asia. More information is available here or visit www.carolyntyler.com to see other designs and show dates.
